Listen to this one, she said and gave me her left earphone. I grab that earphone and put it into my ear. Without looking at me, she said, I love this song.

And the song plays. I saw the cover of the song from her phone.

I love the band name, I said. And we become quiet to listen to the song.

In the middle of the song, she said. I will put this song as the soundtrack of my funeral. I just look at her without any word. It’s quite a good song, right?

Yeah. But why? I asked her. She just shrugged her shoulder and smiled.

Lately, I like to think about my death, she said. Not how I will die, but how my funeral will be. What songs will play and how I’ll get buried. And the song ends. She looks somewhere with a smile. Then she looks at me again.

I think it’s easier to make a plan about death than to think about life.

Why? I can only ask her why.

Maybe because we live every day and die for once. So to make it beautiful, I will make a great plan for it.

I took off the earphone and handed them to her. But, I think we need to think about life too. Like, what will you do after this? What food we will have for dinner. What will happen to us when we’re in the 70s.

She paused and glared at me. I can’t read what is the meaning of that expression.

Then she nodded her head. Yeah, maybe you’re right. Next time, I’ll think about life too. I’ll think about how our life will be, what will happen to us after this night.

So, what will we have for dinner tonight? I asked her. Pizza! We both smiled.
